We can all agree that times right now are stressful, confusing, and probably unlike anything else we’ve experienced before. But it’s also times like these that remind us to not take our health for granted. You might be asking yourself “What can I take or do to help me stay as healthy as possible? What are some ways to boost my immune system?”

We want you to feel calm and informed, so today we’re coming at you with some of the best superfoods and vitamins (in addition to Omega 3) to incorporate into your diet to give your immune system that extra kick it may need right now.

Vitamin C- Vitamin C is the most commonly known immunity booster and lucky for you, it’s easy to get your daily dose of it via fruits like oranges, strawberries and kiwis or even some vegetables like kale or sweet potatoes.

Vitamin B6- Don’t sleep on your B vitamins, folks. Especially for those of you who are plant based out there, it’s important to add a B complex supplement into your daily routine. Vitamin B6 specifically supports biochemical reactions in the immune system. If you’re not getting this vitamin from a supplement, you can also find it in some cold water fish like salmon or tuna, and also chickpeas… just another excuse to dig into that tub of hummus in your fridge.

Zinc- Zinc is an important mineral that helps keep your immune system strong and helps fight infections. Be sure to take the proper dosage to avoid stomach irritation.

Echinacea- This flowering plant is loaded with antioxidants and many people often take this supplement regularly in order to keep their immune system awake and ready to fight. Research has shown that it increases the number of white blood cells in the body, which help fight infections.

Elderberry- Elderberry is PACKED with antioxidants and vitamins. Not only does that make it a great immunity booster, but it can also help tame inflammation, lessen stress and protect your heart.

Garlic- The next time you’re about to shy away from using it to avoid bad breath, take into consideration the immense amounts of benefits garlic can have on your immune system! It’s full of antioxidants and can also hold a positive effect on blood pressure and high cholesterol levels. Yes please… pass the garlic bread!

Blueberries- These tasty fruits are loaded with potassium and packed with antioxidants. Try a handful of blueberries in the morning for a little immunity booster!

Matcha- Trade out your coffee for a matcha latte. Don’t worry, you’ll still get your caffeine fix. Matcha has a higher caffeine content than most teas and one cup of matcha has about the same amount of caffeine as half a cup of black coffee. It’s packed with free radical scavengers, vitamins, minerals and trace elements. Who knew your morning pick me up could also help you fight a cold or flu?!

Goji berries- These fruits contain Vitamin C, B vitamins, essential fatty acids, amino acids, as well as minerals and trace elements to give your immune system that extra boost. Try adding them to your morning smoothie or topping off your oats with a handful!
